Bobbie’s First Illamasqua

Surprise, bet you thought you’d seen the last of me.

In all seriousness, hey, it’s me, I’m not dead or anything! Sorry for the break- I had a long period of not ordering anything because I have enough makeup, really, and then I was all “aw, man, would people even want to see me post about stuff I already own, sheesh, dude” but then someone on Tumblr recognized me and reminded me this blog still exists, so I’m gonna give it a go again. Fair warning, though, I plan to focus less on  “here’s this new thing I bought” and more “here are fun things to do with the things I already own!” because, you know, stuff.

Anyway, that said, check out this new stuff I bought! Continue reading

Life’s Entropy Lip Theories, Volume 2: Part 1

One of my Black Friday orders (that’s how long I was sitting on this review) was a sample set of the newer Life’s Entropy Lip Theories. They arrived, and I promptly said “dang, how am I going to fit all these into a post?” There’s twenty of them, so when you factor in that I usually try to full-day wear any lip products and I can’t wear half of these to work, that’d be a month or so between posts. And it’s not like I’ve never done that before or anything, but I’m trying to avoid it, so here’s part 1.

These samples had been sitting around my house for about a month and a half before I got around to swatching them, plus the time that they got caught in Canada Post. I shook them up a bit, but none of them really seemed to be separating that much.

My Pretty Zombie Blushes And Junk

Okay, so disclaimer, I actually don’t know how to use blush. Like, at all. I’m awful. I go like “haha I don’t use blush because I’m too goth!” but really I just mess it up every time. It’s partially because I’m kinda pasty, partially because of no practice, and partially because until relatively recently I was using a repurposed eyeshadow brush to apply it. But I was like “ehhh time to learn I guess if I’m gonna be a legit makeup blogger” so here I am with a bunch of MPZ samples to figure out what I like.

February (and final?) MBA Perfect Fix Beauty Bag

Whoof. I’ve been working on a big post that needs a bunch of time, so something more is coming. Before I get started on this month’s unboxing, I’d like to mention that Jaiden from the comments pointed out that maquillage_savant on Instagram put up a bunch of photos that indicate that My Beauty Addiction is quite possibly repackaging on shadows they claim are their own creations. On repackaging, personally, I’m cool with it (have you seen what TKB charges to ship to Canada, holy crap) as long as you’re open about it. MBA has a bunch of shadows that they claim are the basic micas, and others with nothing on them, which leads you to believe that the others are their own blends. I knew a lot of the stuff on there was private label, but I thought I’d mention it in case that’s your sticking point.

My Beauty Addiction: Beauty Bag

Alright, so I’m firing off a quick post before I jet off to America for Christmas. Hopefully when I get back, I’ll have a few more packages to review. MBA recently announced a beauty bag subscription, and I’ve generally not hated their products, so I gave it a whirl because I do miss having a beauty bag and they have a super wide variety of products on their site.

My Pretty Zombie Eyeshadows!

I am sorry for how absent I’ve been- I haven’t had much of a chance to make many orders at my new place, and I’ve been working a bunch. Still, as my old job winds up and my new one begins, might as well share what I’ve been dabbling with!

Notoriously Morbid Mystic Mattes and Topcoats

Good news- I’m moved into the new apartment. My show opened successfully, and I’m not working 52 hours a week any more. So guess who finally has time to make a blog post?

I decided to pick up some of the Notoriously Morbid Mystic Mattes when I saw they were available in the duo format, plus some Changeling Topcoats, since I’m a sucker for mattes only with sparkle on there.

Chirp Cosmetics

Hey, friends, it’s been a while, hasn’t it? Sorry for my absence- I’ve had a bunch of stuff going on, and I’ve just been swamped. I’ve also had to quit my job, so once I work past my backlog of orders, I might post a bit less often since money. However, when even the Lipstick Tester comments on how long it’s been, it’s time to haul ass and post.

Also this is the 100th post on my blog, so good job me, I guess!

Femme Fatale swatches

Finally, places are opening up again and I’ve got a bit of free time! I’ve actually made two Femme Fatale orders that were waiting to be reviewed- one during some sale or other, and one when they announced that they were going to stop selling sample baggies. It includes some colour overlap because I’m really predictable and always want the same colours.

Siren Cosmetics

Alright, so this is a rarity among my reviews- Siren Cosmetics does not currently ship to Canada. For a very brief time, however, they were. Shipping was 25 dollars for any amount of stuff, whether you just got a sample or full-sizes of everything. (Seriously, I don’t get why you would choose to have only flat-rate shipping.) I wouldn’t have ordered, but there was a group order on the go and also they had eyeshadow named after MCR songs so there you go.
